HOUSING ASSOCIATIONS AND TRUSTS

Housing Associations and Trusts provide supported housing that assist many groups of people including elderly people, people with mental health, physical or learning difficulties, vulnerable people and the young. Services include assistance with rental properties, home ownership and shared ownership.

Shared Ownership helps people who cannot afford to purchase a home outright, to buy a share of a property and pay rent on the remaining share. The Housing Associaition or Trust retains ownership of the share not purchased. If you wish, you can gradually increase your share until you own the property outright. Your rent reduces proportionately as you buy a larger share of the property.
